Our primary solar irradiance and photovoltaic performance data is sourced directly from the NREL PVWatts® API (Version 8). NREL is a national laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Calculation Methodology

To estimate potential savings, we apply NREL's solar output data to average local electricity rates.

Standard System Specs

All calculations assume a standard residential 5kW system, facing South with a 20-degree tilt, which represents an optimal setup for most US detached homes.
